The Beginning...
Ever since the days of watching "Rat Patrol" and "Cade's County" on TV, I've loved Jeeps. I got my first Jeep, a '47 CJ-2A, which was used as a utility vehicle in a Bethlehem Steel plant that closed down. This thing was beat. It hadn't been on the road in years. The body was all bent and rusted, the floor was concave from all the stuff they threw in the back, the tires had chunks of steel embedded in them. And back in 1970 at $75, this was a steal. Yeh...right. The only good thing about it is it was my Jeep. Forgot to mention, it ran out of oil before it ran out of gas.
After four years of working on "my Jeep" and getting it road worthy, I sold it. Hey, I needed the money. Over the years I went through a CJ-5 and a CJ-7 that were not in great shape either. Then I picked up a '77 CJ-7.
And Now...
After seven years of working on this one, it's pretty cool. This one is on the home page. Now, I also have a '90 Wrangler YJ, my daughter bought a Grand Cherokee, and my son is restoring a '47 CJ-2A (like I did 30 years ago). I might get a new four door JK, if I can work it into the budget.
